If you’re in Europe this summer, head on down to Monaco for "Moscow: Splendors of the Romanovs", July 11-Sept. 13, 2009, an orgy of 500 works from "the century of gold" (1820-1860) at the Grimaldi Forum. Among the many attractions of the installation is a display of six of the nine Fabergé eggs, formerly owned by Malcolm Forbes until they were bought in 2004, along with 190 other Fabergé objects, by Russian businessman Victor Vekselberg. Faberge Eggs Exhibit In Moscow
More than 300 pieces created by the celebrated House of Faberge jewellery firm, including nine of its famous jewel encrusted eggs, are now exhibited at Moscow's Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. The art of the Faberge house from the end of the 19th century and the start of the 20th century is a world phenomenon!

The collection is made up of pieces purchased over the past five years by the billionaire Russian industrialist Victor Vekselberg. In April 2004, Vekselberg bought nine Faberge eggs from the American family of the late Malcolm Forbes, publisher of Forbes Magazine, for over 100 million dollars.

The exhibition will be held through June 28 (extended to) August 8, 2009 in the Department of private collections at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.
